This year we delayed green and tee aerification to help fight poa annua on our greens and we are seeing positive results as the poa is weakened in all areas and dead in some spots. We are seeing baby bentgrass plants creep into those areas and that is exactly what we are trying to accomplish. The only greens that have significant poa are holes 2, 4, 6, 7 and 12. All of the other holes have less than 10% poa on them.

We do have to aerify at some point to relieve compaction and get oxygen down to the roots, so we are scheduled to aerify greens with ¼” tines on June 5th, 6th, and 7th. Please note that the golf course will be closed during those dates. Tee aerification will take place the following week, June 12th and 13th. The golf course will also be closed during that time.

Our Bermuda tee renovation is underway as we have completed holes 13 and 15. The next holes to be done are 10, 11 and 12 tee complexes. We also plan to strip number 1 tee and level it as that tee tends to get more abuse than the others.

The course is in great shape so please get out there and enjoy your beautiful club!
